Printing Costs

Adding Information to Master Copies for Printing

Two master copies of each game will be supplied with your license.  Store one of them away or both of them to never use.  It is best to make clear copies at a copy store to use in placing church personalization on your own master copy to take to the printer.  Never be without a spare copy because we may not be able to issue copies and you might want to use them again in future years, up to ten years from now.

Never use a master copy until you are certain that what you have typed into your computer is going to come out in the right place.  Test the placement of the message you want to add onto copies of the masters until you are completely satisfied.  Print out your added copy and place in over the master.  Then hold it up to a window or other source of light to check proper placement.  Once you put it on the master, there will be no turning back.  That is why it is best to never use the master copy but only copies that are as clear as the master.

Ways to Cut the Cost of Printing

Most office copiers will not print on cover stock paper because it is too heavy.  But, if your church copier can do this, that may be the least expensive way to go.  The license requires cover stock paper to protect the perceived quality of each game.

Ask at least 3 copy service stores the cost of printing the quantity you desire.  Ask for two prices: one if they supply the cover stock paper and one if they do not.  Usually you will save some money by eliminating their cost for the paper, but checking this out is a good idea. You don’t want to go to the trouble of buying the paper if it will not save much money.

If you can reduce the cost of printing at a copy service store by providing your own cover stock paper, look for special deals. Cover stock paper can be purchased online or by using coupons for major retailers like Office Depot and Staples.  Amazon.com has good deals and shipping is free over a certain amount of purchase.

See the next section for finding someone to pay for the cost of printing.

Options for Covering the Cost of Printing

This is not an expensive outreach program, but the money might not be available in your church budget.  If not, there are other possible ways to finance this outreach.

Sometimes there are people in your church more interested in reaching out than others. One or more of these people can give an offering to pick up the relatively small cost.

The back of the grid has space for information about your church.  You can just print the basics and then have a Christian business pay for the printing to have their ad printed under your church information.  Since the game is likely to be used many times, this is fantastic, inexpensive advertising, especially for a business serving families or couples.

Increasing Distribution for Greater Exposure

The best distribution is, of course, face-to-face from your church members.  Encourage your church attendees to pass out as many as they have contacts.  If you run out of copies, print some more, even though the cost of a smaller printing might be a bit more expensive per copy.

But, if you need more exposure for your church, there might be places of business willing to place games out for customers to pick up.  Include doctor and dentist offices, amusement venues, etc. in this list of possibilities.  Perhaps your members work somewhere where copies can be placed for people to pick up.
